I am an experienced enthusiastic nurse with over 15 years at a senior level. With a passion for delivering the best care we can for patients I have spent the last ten years working at the front line within high profile improvement programs specialising in putting the theory into practice. I'm told I am a strong leader and facilitator of improvement and transformational change I have a track record of developing capacity and capability for improvement, locally, regionally nationally and internationally by developing and facilitating communities of improvement across programmes and clinical disciplines. The work I have done has always focused on developing the emotional intelligence of both individuals and teams and organisations. This combined with a sound practical knowledge of improvement science enables her to ensure the policy and theory is turned into practice.

In loving memory of Dottie

I don't normally write about personal things, but these things are important to say.
I have just come back from the funeral of a beautiful lady called Dottie Hall. Dottie was the ward aid on ward 10 at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, my first post as a newly qualified staff nurse. Sandra and I went together, she was and is my best pal from my nurse training days. She was also a staff nurse on the same ward as we both qualified. My goodness the bonds from some experiences are so strong. We loved Dottie, she was dignity and kindness personified, in fact I know the reason I can do what I do today is partly down to her and the family we had together on ward 10 together. Carroll Canell was our ward sister, she sat with us on the same pew in church, across the isle was Miss Pearson our Nursing Officer. They are the other reasons I do what I do. The family was complete.
I write this to remind you to remember to tell those who are special to you and tell them why.
So Sandra I love you because after 30 plus years of being my friend you still at every turn continue to be there for me.....thank you
Caroll, you were my inspiration as a newly qualified nurse, you showed me how to be strong and caring in the same breath, to be professional and enjoy being part of a team....thank you
Miss Pearson, you put me with this team and I will be forever grateful
and Dottie, I love you because thats all you ever gave all of us. Love
The NHS is an amazing family, but its the people in it who make it.
Thank you all x
